Trick or Treat?

I will confess that when it comes to trick or treating I am a real bah humbug. When I was a little girl,my mother never ever let me go. She said that it was begging and do you know what? All these years later,I tend to agree with her. If my children want some sweets,they can go to the cupboard. If they want money then they can ask me. Why would they wander around the streets in the dark and knock on strangers doors to ask them? Besides,we live in London,we don’t even look at our neighbours let alone talk to them. It is likely that a few kids may chance their luck and knock on my door,it will stay firmly shut. If they keep knocking,I will let the dog out,a sure fire way of making sure your property is left in peace.

Do I sound miserable? It is probably because I am a bit. I had to take one of the cats to the vets earlier. He is ok but my purse is not! I should have shares in the vets. Note to self,animals are almost as expensive as children. Perhaps I should write to Auntie Katie and tell her my problems. Have you seen her page yet? If not,then click here and take a look. One of the oldest traditions at the Southport Naval Academy is when a cadet brings a boy in to the Academy grounds,she gets a special punishment that has been handed out for hundreds of years. She has to strip and only leave her hat,shoes and socks on and she is given a sound spanking and birching in the diaper position by her commanding officer and then she has to stand in the parade ground for 2 hours so all the cadets will know what she has done.
